What is a Big Mama

A Big Mama is an older woman aged 35 or older that will be a grandma or mother like figure to your child. You may even be a father or a parent that needs that extra care for your child. Do you or have you ever had a grandma that you sat down with, and you felt so comfortable as if everything was going to be all right because that how she made it. Even if you sat down and she did your hair, it was a way to communicate and open up, tell everything to ask questions, even if it is guidance? Well, if not, that is what Our Big Mama Program provides:

Gain self esteem and self confidence
Regulate and manage emotions
Bullying
Learn to follow the rules and directions
Improve relationship building skills
Work on impulse control and Emotional Intelligence

Celeste Nelson established ItSuitsYou in 2012 with the goal of helping one man at a time by providing donated suits to anyone that simply has the need for a suit. She has provided young men with suits for their prom. Suits for gentleman to go on a job interview. Suits to go to formal and informal events. Over the years she has even had to provide a person’s final suit. Celeste loses herself in her service to others.

To provide each client with professional attire to secure employment, but we are about much more than simply a new outfit. Besides physically equipping the client with apparel and accessories, our programs furnish him with a confidence that he carries forever and the knowledge that he can actively define his life, the direction he takes and what success means to him.

Project Survival Summer Basketball at Bentalou

Project Survival Summer Basketball is an invitation-only youth basketball league that services both boys and girls between the ages of 6 – 13. The games are officiated by former participants that have aged out of the program. The league is 100% free for its participants.
